easy strolls to temples and gardens nearby for explorers
I loved that I could easily walk to the amazing Temple of the Tooth and explore the lush surroundings of the lake right outside. The old colonial charm of the building added to the lovely ambiance of my visit.

See above.
Really liked our room - large and airy - but could probably have done with a lick of paint.

The location was good, central, but still slightly removed from the main hustle and bustle of Kandy.
Definitely past it's prime and could do with a bit of tlc, faded glory are the words that spring to mind!

The location offered great access to local attractions, and the rooms were notably large and clean, with good balconies for relaxation. There were significant issues with service. The staff seemed disorganized with check-in, and our accommodation was initially not prepared for three guests, forcing us to share one bed unexpectedly. The dining experience left much to be desired, primarily due to lack of food options at meal times.

Great free breakfast.
There was no matress pad between the sheets and the matress making sleeping a bit uncomfortable.

The location is central, near the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a leading tourist attraction, the restaurants and Kandy town centre. The restaurant food is delicious, and the breakfast offered is outstanding with Sri Lankan options and waffles, as example.

Hotel Suisse was a lovely experience! I loved the spacious room, which came with a cozy seating area perfect for enjoying my morning coffee while gazing at the beautiful garden view. The bathrooms were super clean, and the hot showers worked wonderfully after a long day of exploring the city. The location made it easy to stroll to the Temple of the Tooth and enjoy the scenic lakeside walk.
Some amenities felt outdated.

We had stayed at Hotel Suisse in the 1960s, when it was one of the best hotels in Sri Lanka, We wanted to stay close to the lake, and the location is very charming, with a nice pool and well kept gardens. It retains its Old Colonial charm. The rooms are large and the beds comfortable. We knew what to expect and were not disappointed with our stay.
